Netherlands publishes Azeri author in Dutch

Baku, April 7 (AzerTAc). A presentation of book “Ali and Nino” by Azeri author Gurban Said in Dutch language was held in Hague, the Netherlands. The presentation was initiated and supported by Azerbaijan Embassy in the Netherlands, Dutch friends of Azerbaijan Society, Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress and Georgian Embassy in the Netherlands.
The presentation brought together officials of the Netherlands, chiefs and employees of diplomatic corps accredited in the Hague, representatives of international organizations, prominent scientists and men of culture, activists of Azerbaijani and Georgian Diasporas, representatives of local non-governmental organizations and mass media, according to Azerbaijan Embassy to the Netherlands.
Opening the ceremony, Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the Netherlands Fuad Isgandarov informed participants on Azerbaijan history, political and economical progresses in the country, main role of the country in region. He stressed Azerbaijan is initiator of intercultural dialogue. Mr. Isgandarov highlighted the book “Ali and Nino” affirming the friendship between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador also stated that Gurban Said`s “Ali and Nino” has been published in 33 languages since 1937.
Georgian ambassador to the Netherlands Shota Gvineria provided information about the history of friendship and political and economical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Shota Gvineria appreciated the book as demonstrator of brotherhood between the countries.
The ceremony also featured concert of mugham trio “Karabakh” led by Azerbaijan People`s Artist Mansum Ibrahimov and films about the country.
