OVERTIME FROM "FIREFIGHTERS"
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited Syria, Bahrain and Qatar, which are in a circle of fire, in 24 hours. Davutoglu met Libyan opponents in Qatar. (Davutoglu had addressed ambassadors as saying, "if the world is on fire, Turkey is the firefighter.")
Turkey is assuming the leading role for stability in the Middle East. Davutoglu's first stop was Bahrain, which the world fears could be a place of sectarian clashes. Davutoglu met government executives and opponents, and called on both parties to take steps.
Davutoglu was expected to proceed to Syria after Bahrain, however he changed plans and met Libyan opponents in Qatar. Davutoglu explained Turkey's solution plan to the opponents and said, "first, ceasefire should be ensured, and dialogue process should begin after that."
Davutoglu later went to Syria, and gave the message that "Turkey was ready to extend every assistance for implementation of reforms as soon as possible."

CHANGE IS A NECESSITY
On developments in the Middle East and North Africa, President Abdullah Gul said, "people do not refrain from raising their voices. Fear has been overcome at last. The reason of the change is not important. Change is a necessity."

PROSECUTOR CHOSEN, PLOTTERS OF SEPTEMBER 12 MILITARY COUP TO GO ON TRIAL
The button has been pushed for the trial of the plotters of September 12 military coup in 1980. Following a constitutional referendum last fall, Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office has appointed Prosecutor Murat Demir to begin an investigation into the September 12 military coup of 1980. Three retired generals who led the military coup of 1980 and who are still alive may go on trial.

TURKISH PRIVATE SECTOR SECURITY COMPANIES TO EMPLOY 10,000 NEW INDIVIDUALS
Turkish private sector security companies will employ 10,000 new individuals in 2011. Turkey currently has 171,000 people working in the security sector and ranks second in Europe with the most number of security personnel.

5 STAR DORMITORIES
Turkey's Housing Administration (TOKI) will erect 18 five star student dormitories each of which will have 10,210 bed capacity. The five star dormitories will be built in 17 provinces.

ASSISTANCE TO DAMASCUS FOR REFORMS
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was in Damascus, Syria on Wednesday. In a meeting with the Syrian President Bashar al-Asad, Davutoglu said that Turkey was ready to provide assistance to Syria for reforms.
