NATO boss admits no military solution to Libya

Berlin, April 10, IRNA -- NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has warned that military force alone will not be enough to restore peace to Libya.
Talking to the German weekly news magazine Der Spiegel, Rasmussen said to be honest there is 'no military solution' for the problem.
He acknowledged that bad weather was partially hampering NATO air strikes on the North African country.
Rasmussen pointed out that the Libyan regime of Colonel Moammar Qadhafi had changed its military tactics by using human shields.
He added Qadhafi could be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court for his crimes against his people.
NATO has formally taken over full command of air strike missions against Libya on March 31.
The western military pact is reportedly enforcing a UN-mandated arms embargo, a no-fly zone and actions to protect civilians and civilian centers in Libya.
NATO fighter jets have now conducted more than 1,500 sorties, with almost half resulting in strikes, since NATO took over command of all Libya military operations./end
