Nasrallah: Iran supported Lebanon after 33-day war

Beirut, April 10, IRNA – Secretary General of Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrollah, in a televised speech on Saturday, criticized outgoing Prime Minister Saad Hariri for his stance against Iran's policies.

He said if Hariri is upset with Hezbollah, he should not put blame on Iran.

Saad Hariri, a few days ago, had said that Lebanese do not accept their country become an 'Iranian protectorate.'

The Hezbollah chief asked whether they have forgetten Iran's support for Lebanon after 33-day war. And this is not how Iran should be treated.

He continued that March 14 parties should commit to their slogans.
Nasrollah also called Bahraini government to retreat its recent decision not to allow a number of Lebanese to work there after Hezbollah announced its support for the Shia.

He added that it is not fair to put pressure on Lebanese citizens in Bahrain, while they had nothing to do with our political stances.

Regarding the formation of a Lebanese cabinet headed by Prime Minister designate Najib Mikati , Nasrollah said that parliamentary blocs have the right to demand certain cabinet share, but he reassured that none of the March 8 parties want to obstruct cabinet formation.

The Hezbollah chief accused March 14 of provoking other parties and continued that it is a shame that the Future Movement or March 14 claims that Hezbollah is behind the selection of Mikati and is engineering the new cabinet.

Expressing his view on Wikileaks cables recently published by al-Akhbar newspaper, Seyed Hassan said that the US made a deal with March 14 parties to terminate the Resistance.

He pointed out that Washington has told March 14 to terminate the Resistance, and in return March 14 would be granted the rule.

However, the Resistance remains and figures of March 14 are no longer in the government, he continued, no one will be able to harm the Resistance./end
