Iran ready to help transfer Lebanese of Ivory Coast: FM
Beirut, April 11, IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi Sunday expressed Iran's readiness for transfer of Lebanese nationals from Ivory Coast to Beirut.
Foreign Minister Salehi made the remark in a telephone conversation with the Lebanese Foreign Minister Ali al-Shami, IRNA quoted Iranian Embassy in Beirut as saying.
'Islamic Republic of Iran's airplanes are ready to transfer the Lebanese nationals from Ivory Coast's Abidjan to Beirut,' Salehi said.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Ali al-Shami for his part thanked Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi for his humanitarian offer.
About 9,000 Lebanese nationals live in Ivory Coast and some of them want to return to their country due to recent popular uprisings there./end
