First congress of Global Youth Movement for Alliance of Civilizations wraps up in Baku
Baku, April 11 (AzerTAc). The 1st congress of the Global Youth Movement for Alliance of Civilizations (GYMAOC) has ended here on Sunday.
The congress brought together more than 100 young people from 40 countries.
A Charter, Baku Declaration and Action Plan featured mechanism of movement`s action, cooperation with international organizations, in particular, Mechanisms aiming to solve conflicts on the ground of intercultural phobia were adopted at a closing ceremony of the congress.
Speakers at the event included Secretary General of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation Elshad Isgandarov, director of Youth and Sport department of Council of Europe (CoE) Ralf-Rene Weingartner, Youth Program Manager of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Isabelle Legare, deputy of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) and chairman of the Azerbaijan National Council of Youth Organizations Fuad Muradov, director of Youth Affairs Department of Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport Farhad Hajiyev .
Prominent researcher and businessman living in UK Aziz Ibrahim made a special report on process of civilazations` approach.
Organizers of the project held a press conference.
Participants thanked Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation and Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport for organizing the event.
