Oil exhibit will encourage investment, transfer of modern technology

Tehran, April 12, IRNA -- The international oil exhibition scheduled to open on April 15 will encourage investment and transfer of modern technology, said a member of Majlis Planning, Budget and Audit Commission.

Talking to IRNA, Ghaffar Esmaeili said that such events will also prepare the ground to develop cooperation with other countries in the field of economy and technology.

He said that the exhibits provide an opportunity to introduce Iran’s capacities in the oil sector.

Iran's 16th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition will be held in Tehran on April 15-19.

Some 927 Iranian and 460 foreign companies are taking part in the exhibition.

The number of participating countries and foreign companies has increased by 20 and 22 percent respectively, as compared to the figures for previous edition.

The countries taking part in the exhibition are Austria, Spain, Australia, Britain, Italy, Germany, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Norway, India, Singapore, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Brazil.

A ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of OPEC will also be held as part of the programs of the upcoming exhibition./end
