Official: Nuclear arsenal does not provide security for countries

Zanjan, April 13, IRNA – Assistant Secretary of Supreme National Security Council in foreign policy and international security said that nuclear arsenal would not bring security for countries and Iran has never thought to use such mass destruction weapons.

Addressing Zanjan University students, Ali Baqeri said that the Soviet disintegration, the US fiasco in Iraq, Zionist regime defeat in the 33-day war from a political party and from a group during the 22-day war are indications that such weapons can not provide security.

Referring to construction of nuclear power plants, Baqeri said that such knowledge is among advanced sciences, and because of special complexities, construction of such power plants should be implemented upon standards of IAEA.

The assistant secretary of SNSC, by referring to the enemies' imposed pressures and sanctions against Iran to stop progress in nuclear science, underlined that resistance and continuation of move in direction of growth have shown that there is no obstacle in the way of Iran's growth.

He added that nuclear activities are a serious need and scientific necessity in the country and no government in Iran can create a pause in this field.

Concerning talks between Iran and Group 5+1, he added that both sides underline the principle of talks.
