Moldova hosts symposium assessing the quality of immunization data management and monitoring
Baku, April 14 (AzerTAc). A symposium “Assessing the quality of immunization data management and monitoring” was held in Moldova`s capital Chisinau.
The symposium brought together representatives from 13 countries.
The symposium co-organized by World Health Organization (WHO), the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), UNICEF and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also was attended by Azerbaijan delegation.
The aim of the workshop is to build regional and in-country resources of trained immunization data managers who will assess the quality of immunization data using the Immunization Data Quality Self-assessment (DQS) tool.
The discussions featured provide insight into the objectives and approaches for data quality monitoring, review the global DQS tool and dove-tail it into the regional immunization data use practices with field testing of the adopted DQS tool and a data entry exercise; conduct analysis of the field exercise data to assess immunization data quality and use of assessment findings data; and share best practices across countries to improve immunization data management and monitoring.
