Azeri finance minister meets delegation of BSTDB

Baku, April 15 (AzerTAc). Finance Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov met with delegation of The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) led by Andrey Kondakov, the president, on Thursday. The sides discussed the present day situation of the bilateral relations and future cooperation prospects. Kondakov briefed the participants of the meeting on the activity of the BSTDB. “BSTDB has funded a number of projects in Azerbaijan and we are planning to scope our activity in the future”, according to Kondakov.
In turn, Azeri finance minister noted that Azerbaijan pays great attention to the relations with financial organizations, cooperation with BSTDB as well. Bank`s new strategy for Azerbaijan for 2011-2014 was also discussed at the meeting.
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is an international financial institution that supports economic development and regional cooperation by providing trade and project financing, guarantees, and equity for development projects supporting both public and private enterprises in its member countries. The member countries include Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Albania, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Romania. The BSTDB is also related to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, a regional economic organization. BSTDB is governed by the Agreement Establishing Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, a United Nations registered treaty. Until now, the bank has issued 100 million Euros to fund 20 projects in Azerbaijan.
