President: Iran-Lebanon solidarity defeats enemies' plots

Tehran, April 17, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that hegemonic powers are opposed to all regional nations and are merely seeking their own interests, but deep solidarity between Iran and Lebanon has defeated all enemies' plots against the two nations.

According to the report of Presidential Office website on Saturday evening, President Ahmadinejad, in a telephone conversation with Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri, said that both nations have common viewpoints on international and regional issues.

He added that the recent developments in the region and the US and its allies behavior in this concern proved Iran's viewpoint that they are just seeking their own interests.

He stressed that bullying powers are not only opposed to Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Iraq, but to all nations of the region and even all independent nations of the world.

Nabih Berri, for his part, underlined necessity of strengthening and consolidating unity and cooperation between the two nations and added that Lebanon, with faith and courage, is following the way of strengthening unity and solidarity with Iran.
