Coopertives, good opportunity to introduce Iranian-Islamic pattern

Kish Island, Hormuzgan Prov, April 16, IRNA – Minister of Cooperatives Mohammad Abbasi said here on Saturday that the cooperatives economy is a good opportunity to introduce a successful Iranian-Islamic pattern to the whole world.

The minister made the remarks while addressing the first international seminar on potentials of the cooperatives sector.

The main objectives of the cooperatives sector is to promote human values and social justice as well as help bolster all-out development in all world countries, Abbasi said during the two-day seminar.

The minister praised the sharp growth in the cooperatives sector in the country in the past three decades following the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Meanwhile, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in his message to the seminar, announced that the cooperatives sector is trying to achieve a 25-percent share in the country’s national economy.

He expressed hope that the cooperatives sector would pave the way for materialization of ideals of the society in various fields including the fair distribution of wealth, eradication of poverty and removing the existing gaps between different classes and the ultimate administration of justice.

Meanwhile, First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi briefed the audience on the characteristics of a successful cooperatives sector./end
