Kuwait''s Nat''l Conf. kicks off

KUWAIT, April 18 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah asserted Monday that the national conference on Kuwait draws its inspiration from His Highness the Amir saying on Kuwait being the "country we all cherish and continue to live for and exerts efforts to build." Sheikh Ahmad, who is also Minister of State for Development Affairs, and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, made his remarks during the inauguration of the four-day 8th National Conference, which honors Kuwaiti icons dubbed (from Kuwait we start and from Kuwait we finish).
Sheikh Ahmad noted that those who are being honored has exerted all efforts to make Kuwait's name shine in various fields, adding that such names deserve all the recognition they get.
Sheikh Ahmad also s hed light on the recent demise of Kuwaiti business tycoon Nasser Al-Kharafi, who he described as a "symbol of such people who helped Kuwait thrive and flourish in various fields." The conference, organized by various legal and commercial companies, aims at improving national ideologies, moderate and positive thinking.
For his part, Head of the higher supervising committee Youssif Al-Yaseen said that the organizing committee has exerted all efforts from the first year till now to bolster ideologies of nationalization and moderate thinking, including to revive the country's national icons for generations to come, who helped build Kuwait's history throughout the years.
This year's honorees are Late Amir Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah, Abdullatif Mohammed Thnayan Alghanim, Khalid Youssef Al-Marzoug, Wael Jassem Al-Saqer, Hussein Issa Al-Qinai, Sayid Hisham Behbehani, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Otaibi, Mohammad Yousuf Al-Nesuf, Mohammed Ahmad Al-Rushaid, Mohammed Hussein Qabazard , Mulla Mershid Mohammed Al-Suleiman, Othman Mohamed Al-Furaih, Munira Abdulrahman Al-Ateeqi, Mohammed Falah Al-Falah, Martyr Hisham Mohammed Al-Obaidan, Mohammad Mesaaed Al-Saleh, Abdullah Dakhil Al Shay'e, Hessa Fahad Al-Sudairawi, Abdullah Almusailem Al-Reshidi and Ahmad Al-Besher Al-Roumi.
