Iran's Presidential advisor confers with nat'l security advisor to India's PM

New Delhi, April 20, IRNA – Iran's Presidential advisor in Press Affairs Ali Akbar Javanfekr conferred with national security advisor to India's prime minister and discussed issues of mutual interest with him.
Javanfekr, who is in India upon an invitation of India's Minister without portfolio in Foreign Affairs, on the second day of his visit, conferred with Shivshankar Menon in the venue of Foreign Ministry building.
In the meeting where Iran's Ambassador to India Seyed Mehdi Nabizadeh was present, Javanfekr said that Iran-India relations have always been expanding but there are are many capacities for promoting bilateral ties.
The presidential advisor underlined importance of cooperation between the two countries in fight against terrorism and added that Iran has been hurt by terrorism more than any other country in the region and the world.
He also said that developing media cooperation is another field for mutual cooperation and Iran intends to increase IRNA's activities here by producing and publication of news in the Urdu language and we welcome PTI News Agency's decision to have an office in Iran.
Javanfekr also talked about current developments in North Africa and in the Middle East and said that the US in cooperation with a number of its European allies and the Zionist regime is executing a wide plan against regional nations and is trying to consolidate their position in the region for upcoming decades.
He criticized west dual standard concerning developments in the region, especially lack of reaction to massacre of innocent people of Bahrain and underlined that India as an independent country and member of Non-Aligned Movement can have an effective role in development of the region.
India's National security advisor, for his part, expressed satisfaction over his recent visit to Tehran and useful meetings he had with Iranian senior officials and also welcomed continuation of reciprocal visits between senior officials for exchanging views on regional developments.
He stressed that India considers Iran a country with stability, so for exchanging views and consultation about regional developments first refers to Iran.
Menon also welcomed expansion of cooperation and consultation between the two countries in different fields, such as Afghanistan, confrontation with terrorism and role of media in forming public opinion in the world./end
