President Underlines Iran's Resolve to Reach Peaks of Science
TEHRAN, April 20 (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined the Iranian nation's major share in human civilization, and said the country is resolved to become a role model of science and justice for the other world nations.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Faculty of Modern Sciences and Technologies of Tehran University on Tuesday, Ahmadinejad said the Iranian nation has played a unique role in the production of the world culture and civilization."
"The Iranian nation enjoys the talent to accomplish every task," he continued.
"Today Iran is taking a leap, and this proves existence of unique talents (in Iran)," President Ahmadinejad noted.
The president further reminded the Iranian nation's remarkable progress in scientific fields despite the sanctions and pressures imposed on the country by the enemies, and added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran should become a role model and a source of inspiration for the world people, and that needs construction of the Islamic Iran based on domestic models and talents."
Late in March, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised the growing trend of Iran's scientific progress specially in medical, bio and Nano technologies.
"Today the country is moving towards acquiring knowledge and technology in advanced scientific fields," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large and fervent congregation of Iranian people in the holy city of Mashhad on the occasion of Nowrouz.
"We see today that progress has been made in different fields such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, making radiopharmaceuticals, anti-cancer medications… and in producing super computers," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
In February, President Ahmadinejad stated that Iran has witnessed eye-catching progress in different scientific fields, and stressed that his administration is resolved to boost financial backup for scientific researches.
Ahmadinejad said at the time that Iran has taken a huge stride in development and construction, adding that the country's achievements have been noteworthy in multiple fronts ranging from aerospace, biotechnology and nanotechnology to major improvement in housing development in rural areas as well as other parts of the country.
