Azerbaijan Embassy in Indonesia publishes book “Azerbaijan album”
Baku, April 23 (AzerTAc). A book “Azerbaijan album” has been published in the country`s capital Jakarta at the initiative of Azerbaijan Embassy in Indonesia.
Azerbaijan`s map with ancient monuments has been placed in the flyleaf of the book.
Azeri ambassador to Indonesia Ibrahim Hajiyev says in the foreword of the book the embassy published six books and brochures on Azerbaijan`s history, economy, culture and Armenian aggressive policy against Azerbaijan. The Ambassador thanked President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador and deputy of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) Mehriban Aliyeva for support. He also appreciated the help of Azerbaijan Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Ecology and Natural Resources and AzerTAc (Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency).
The book features the state anthem, descriptions of Azerbaijan`s flag and emblem, geological, political and economical facts of the country.
The book also includes article and photos on 20 January tragedy. As a result of the operation carried out by the USSR ministries of defense and internal affairs and State Security Committee, 134 innocent civilians were brutally killed in capital Baku and more than 600 people were wounded. The operation also resulted in unprecedented damages. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan regained its independence in 18 October 1991.
The book features photos and comments on old and modern Baku.
The book also provides information on the progress achieved in the development of science, culture, art, education and healthcare spheres by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan oil strategy ascertained by national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, as well as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline.
Azeri cuisine, tourism potential, country`s nature, rich culture, historical monuments, fauna and flora are reflected in the book, too.
The book highlights democratic reforms led by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, state care for youth, works done in sport and defense industry fields.
The truthful and undeniable facts and photos narrate on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the Khojaly massacre, Armenian vandalism, the “Justice for Khojaly" campaign started in 2008 on the initiative of the ICYF General Coordinator for Cross-Cultural Dialogue Leyla Aliyeva.
