Iranian VP: Collaboration with US to Annihilate Saudi, Al-Khalifa Regimes
TEHRAN, April 24 (FNA)- Washington, Riyadh and Manama's collaboration and complicity in suppressing the defenseless Bahraini people will lead to the collapse of the Saudi and al-Khalifa regimes, Iranian Vice-President for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajoddini stressed on Saturday.
"The Saudi and al-Khalifa regimes' cooperation with the US will lead to their annihilation," Mir-Tajoddini told FNA, and further assured that the revolutionary people in the region, who are inspired by the 'Islamic Awakening', will gain victory.
He blamed the United States' puppet regimes for the recent and current events in Bahrain, Libya and Yemen, and reiterated, "Today no Muslim can accept that his Muslim brother is being killed by the forces of another country and the US should know that its interference in the internal affairs of other countries will damage its interests."
Mir-Tajoddini also underlined that suppression of the Bahraini protestors by the Saudi and Al-Khalifa regimes' forces will prove futile and will have no result but the victory of the Bahraini nation.
Demonstrators in Bahrain have been demanding constitutional reforms as well as an end to the 230-year-old monarchy, with hundreds camping out peacefully in the capital's Pearl Square since February 14th.
Bahraini security forces have been brutally suppressing anti-government protesters. So far, at least 40 people have been killed, almost 100 have gone missing and about 1,000 others have been injured.
The violence against protesters escalated when Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar dispatched their armed forces to the country to help Manama crack down on peaceful protesters.
