Azerbaijani parliament`s delegation to attend TurkPA`s second plenary session
Baku, April 25 (AzerTAc). A delegation of Azerbaijani parliament (Milli Majlis) led by Speaker Ogtay Asadov will be attending the second plenary session of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) to be held on April 27-29 in Astana, Kazakhstan, Milli Majlis press-secretary Akif Nasirov told journalists.
Heads of parliaments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will gather in the event where chairman-in-office of the Assembly Ogtay Asadov will deliver a report.
He will highlight what have been done in TurkPA so far and future activity of the Assembly. Head of the Kazakhstan parliament will assume presidency of TurkPA during the session.
The event participants will hear a report on TurkPA Secretary General`s activity in 2010. They will also discuss budget projects for 2011-2012, permanent commissions to be established.
Moreover, the participants are expected to adopt TurkPA`s flag and emblem, applications of the International Parliamentary Organizations on granting it observer status to the Assembly, final document of the second session – Astana Declaration, as well as date and venue of the third Plenary Session.
During the visit, Asadov will meet Kazakhstan`s President, speaker of parliament, as well as heads of the delegations of various countries.
The talks will focus on a number of issues, including development of bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary ties.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition on “Independence of Turkic-Speaking Countries: development of new opportunities” will be demonstrated.
