Supreme Leader urges development of agriculture sector

Tehran, April 26, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday called for promotion of agriculture sector and removal of impediments to its development.

Ayatollah Khamenei further instructed the head and members of Majlis Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Commission to attend to the agricultural sector which he said plays a crucial role in food security and job creation.

The Supreme Leader said any legislation vacuums should be eliminated so that any law passed in that connection can be implemented immediately.

“Anything passed by Majlis as law is absolutely supported by the leadership and the law too should be enforced. The Majlis, however, should take needs of the government into consideration while passing a law,' Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Supreme Leader reiterated his support for the government's subsidy plan, saying, implementation of the subsidy law is truly among the courageous and big works of the government and it should not be undermined by exaggerating certain problems./end
