Kazan to host candidates matches of FIDE world championship
Baku, April 27 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Teymur Rajabov will compete in the candidates matches 2011 of the FIDE world championship in Kazan, Tatarstan from May 3 to 27.
Along with the Azeri grandmasters the tournament will see participation of Bulgarian Veselin Topalov, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, Russian Vladimir Kramnik, Armenian Levon Aronian, Israeli Boris Gelfand and American Gata Kamsky.
Total prize fund of the tournament amounts to € 500,000.
