TurkPA`s second plenary session kicks off in Astana

Astana, April 28 (AzerTAc).The second plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) started Thursday in Astana.
The event brings together heads of parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as delegation led by the Assembly`s Secretary General.
Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament, Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov underlined the necessity of expansion of political, economic, cultural relations among Turkic-speaking countries.
Asadov also touched upon TurkPA`s activity, particularly international relations.
The Speaker noted Chairmanship of TurkPA had transferred to Kazakhstan from Azerbaijan. He wished successes to the country.
TurkPA Secretary General Ramil Hasanov also spoke of the international relations of the Assembly. He also touched upon the Assembly`s budget for 2011-2012.
Hasanov noted founder of the modern Turkish state Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev had made vigorous efforts for unity and development of the Turkic world.
Then heads of Kazakh, Turkish and Kyrgyz parliaments addressed the event.
Member of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ulvi Guliyev highlighted the Assembly`s new structure, commissions to be established.
The event participants exchanged views on TurkPA`s official flag and emblem.
They also signed Astana Declaration.
