Iran to Speed up Repair, Service Operations at Gas Facilities

TEHRAN, April30(FNA)- A senior official of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said that the company has drawn special plans to lower the time for repairing and servicing gas refining and processing facilities.
Mehdi Jamshidi Dana, a manager for production control at the NIGC, stated that the overhaul of the gas processing plants will take less time in the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21).

The NIGC official went on to elaborate that the overall time period for the repair and service of the gas refining facilities reduced 10 percent in the last Iranian calendar year as compared to the previous year, and this year will mark another 10 percent reduction for the overhaul period.

Jamshidi Dana also highlighted the increase in production of processed gas, saying that last year 146 billion cubic meters of processed gas were injected to the gas pipelines of the country and the figure will surge by six percent this year.

Commenting on the production of gas derivates at the South Pars gas filed, the Iranian official noted that 22 million liters of gas condensate, 920,000 tons of sulfur and 525,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were produced last year, showing a significant increase compared to a year earlier.

The South Pars gas field is located in the Persian Gulf on a border zone between Iran and Qatar. The field's reserves are estimated at 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas.
