Istanbul hosts discussions on purchase, sale and transit of natural gas between Azerbaijan and Turkey
Ankara, April 30 (AzerTAc). Discussions have been held in Istanbul on purchase, sale and transit of natural gas between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The discussions were held by Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız.
Natig Aliyev said at a conference on results of the discussions, documents to be signed between the two countries would define terms of transportation of Azerbaijan`s natural gas to Europe and its sale to Turkey. He called the agreements “important” for not only companies of the two countries, but also international companies. Aliyev also added the sides would sign documents after completion of works over them.
Taner Yıldız said the parties carried out the negotiation process on five topics. He said the teams would maintain talks and a series of agreements would be signed.
"We have agreed on the intergovernmental agreement in principle and in detail. We agreed on issues regarding purchase and sale agreements. Transit passage is a 130 page text. We need time to work on it."
