Iran to Hold Int'l Students Nanotechnology Olympiad in 2012

TEHRAN , May 1 (FNA)- Executive manager of the Students Nanotechnology Olympiad Amin Moradi announced that Iran plans to organize and hold the third Students Nanotechnology Olympiad at an international level in 2012.
Following the First Nanotechnology Sciences Olympiad for Students in Iran, a number of countries like Turkey and Sweden welcomed arrangement of such Olympiads for students, and organizers decided to arrange an olympiad for students from Iran, Sweden and Turkey.

"This Olympiad has a significant effect on improving the general knowledge of students about nanotechnology," Moradi said.

He further expressed pleasure in the organization of such Olympiad at an international level.

"The nanotechnology knowledge of the students from various countries will be examined in this Olympiad and a competitive environment will be created between students from all over the world," he explained.

According to him, another advantage of the organization of such Olympiad is the improvement in the public trust to the Iranian nanotechnology-based products.

"Taking into consideration the Iranian global rank in submitting articles about nanotechnology, the organization of Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students will considerably increase people's knowledge and it will obtain the public trust to the Iranian nanotechnology-based products," Moradi underlined.

The executive manager of Nanotechnology Sciences Olympiad for Students believes that the Ministry of Education and Training must cooperate in the organization of the Olympiad, and added, "Nanotechnology education at an international level is a good opportunity for the Iranian Ministry of Education and Training to be recognized as the main organizer of the event, and to create positive interactions in this field with other countries."

The Second National Nanotechnology Olympiad for Students will be held in summer 2011.
