Tajik Analyst Calls Bin Laden US Agent
TEHRAN, May 4 (FNA)- A prominent Tajik analyst reiterated on Wednesday that the ringleader of the terrorist al-Qaeda group, Osama bin Laden, served Washington's interests both during his life and after his death.
"Americans could no doubt have killed Osama sooner than this but they had postponed it until a proper opportunity and occasion," Simeddin Doustov told FNA, adding, "Washington seeks to justify its interferences in the Arab countries through Osama's death scenario."
"The United States' attempts to protect its interests through managing crises and developments in the Arab countries, specially the US and NATO measures in Libya, have provoked popular protests in different countries of the world," he added.
"Washington was obliged to announce the news about Osama's death rapidly to overshadow such measures."
The US announced the death of the Al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, for political drives and as part of Washington's policies for the present world conditions, a prominent Afghan analyst said, adding that the US will kill other notorious terrorist leaders and announce their death whenever it feels necessary, like a chess game.
Speaking to FNA about Osama bin Laden's death, Dad Nourani said he believes that the US has full access to other top figures of the Al-Qaeda, including Ayman al-Zawahiri and Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar.
He further mentioned that the US wiretaps have revealed that al-Qaeda members have been calling Zawahiri as "Sheikh al-Kabir" (the Great Master) since bin Laden had entrusted all his responsibilities and al-Qaeda leadership to Zawahiri since a year ago.
As regards the reason why the US hasn't killed these so-called most wanted terrorists yet, Nourani stated, "The CIA, Pakistani ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) and FBI can have access to Mullah Omar and Ayman Zawahiri whenever they want."
The point is they don't want to kill them because their death should be politically beneficial to the US, he implied.
"Their death is a matter of time and they will be killed when necessary," the Afghan analyst reiterated.
Obama announced on Sunday that bin Laden was killed in a US operation in Pakistan.
Obama said he had directed helicopter-borne US armed forces to launch an attack against a heavily fortified compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on Sunday acting on a lead that first emerged last August.
Senior US officials said that in addition to bin Laden, three adult males died in the raid, two who were believed to be couriers for the Al-Qaeda leader, and one who was said to be one of his adult sons.
One woman who was being used as a human shield was also killed, the officials said.
