Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan boost scientific cooperation

Baku, May 2 (AzerTAc). Director of Architecture and Art Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Scientists (ANAS) Ertakin Salamzade and doctor of study of art Rana Abdullayeva met with staff of the National Institute of Art and Design named after Behzad to boost scientific cooperation between two countries.
The invitation has come from the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation and Uzbekistan`s Antiques Association “Miras” (“Heritage”).
Azerbaijan ambassador to Uzbekistan Sabuhi Ahmadov also attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, rector of the institute Hasan Amirov briefed on scientific relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He stressed the necessity of expanding of cooperation.
The rector presented to the visitors scientific literature and belles-letters on modern Uzbek art.
Professor Ertakin Salamzade touched upon the contract has been signed between Architecture and Art Institute of ANAS and Uzbek National Institute of Art and Design during the visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan in September 2010. He praised boosting of cooperation among art workers- painters, sculptors, designers.
Ertakin Salamzade provided information on Institute`s structure and duties and co-projects to be implemented in the future.
Director of Uzbekistan`s Antiques Association, doctor of art study Kamola Akhiliva underlined the ongoing projects carrying out with Architecture and Art Institute of ANAS.
People`s Artist of Uzbekistan, academician Sabir Rahmetov informed participants about the current state of painting.
Doctor of study of art Rana Abdullayeva touched upon problems on modern art study and stressed the necessity of expanding international relations for elimination of the problems.
The meeting also featured discussions on modern art problems.
