Five More Iranian Films Go to Cannes Market

TEHRAN , May 3 (FNA)- Five movies have been added to the Iranian cinematic productions list to be offered in the 2011 Cannes Film Market.
"The 9/11 Black Box," "Passion of Charlie," "Paradise is Here," "Moonlight on the Platform," and "Endless" are the films that will go to the market.

Each movie will be showcased twice in public screenings during the market running date.

"The 9/11 Black Box," directed by Mohammadreza Eslamloo, is a political documentary, which questions the official story of September 11, 2001 events.

The story narrates an Iranian documentarian named Mohammad, who has an apocalyptic view toward contemporary events that are happening in the world. Along with the French journalist and political activist, Thierry Meyssan, Mohammad tries to make a documentary according to Meyssan's research on 9/11.

"Passion of Charlie," directed by Alireza Sa'adatnia, portrays a street salesman, who sells petroleum but then decides to purchase a projector and establishes a mobile cinema.

"Paradise is Here," directed by Hamid Salimian, represents the story of a seven-year old boy. The boy, Ali, though a child, possesses a mature soul and seeks experiences that other youngsters his age are not usually interested in.

"Moonlight on the Platform," directed by Fima Emami, illustrates the Ta'azieh or Iranian passion play.

"Endless," directed by Amir-Hossein Jahdust, features the daily life of a young girl, Afsaneh.

The 2011 Cannes Film Market will open on May 11 and will run until May 22.
