Iran and Cuba to boost media cooperation
Spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry and head of Cuban radio-TV networks here Monday stressed need for bilateral media cooperation, particularly in reflection of 1st hand, authentic news.
According to IRNA, Ramin Mehmanparast who is currently visiting Cuba, in a meeting with Daniel Sergio Lopez emphasizing the ever increasing importance of public diplomacy in foreign policy, particularly the role of the audiovisual media in that respect.
He meanwhile emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) for boosting cooperation with the Cuban radio-TV networks.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman meanwhile referred to the successful implementation of the goal-orientation of subsidies plan in Iran, and said, “The Iranian media assisted the government comprehensively in justifying the plan and in educating the people on how to help to implement this national plan smoothly and free from unnecessary difficulties.”
He particularly stressed the role played by the IRIB in that respect.
In the meeting the head of the Cuban radio-TV networks, too, while introducing his affiliated media comprehensively, welcomed the Iranian national audiovisual media’s cooperation proposal, said, “Our medias in these two remote parts of the world can have fruitful bilateral cooperation taking advantage of such technical means as the Telesur TV in Latin America, and the Press TV network in the Middle East region, and present an authentic image of the events and developments in these two regions effectively.
