Salehi in Muscat to confer with counterpart
Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi arrived in Muscat, Oman's capital on Wednesday.
Upon his arrival, Salehi was warmly welcomed by his Omani Counterpart Youssef bin Alawi in the airport.
“Without doubt, Salehi’s first visit to Oman would be constructive,” Alawi said.
Omani minister added the visit is the best opportunity to foster mutual ties.
He said Omani government is keen to enhance Tehran-Muscat cooperation.
Omani foreign minister underlined that expanding ties between the two countries is beneficial for the region.
Salehi, for his part, said his visit to Oman aimed at boosting mutual cooperation and safeguarding stability in the region.
Iranian foreign minister described his Omani counterpart as a veteran and pioneer politician, expressing hope that Tehran-Muscat interactionss have positive benefits for the region.
Referring to Iran and Oman old and long-standing relations, Salehi added the two sides enjoy convergence of opinion.
