Qatar Attends 87th Session of Arab League Economic & Social Council

Cairo , May 04 (QNA) -The eighty-seventh regular session of the Economic and Social Council commenced at the Arab League's general Secretariat headquarters here on Wednesday at the level of senior officials of the Ministries of Economy, Finance and Trade in the Arab countries with the participation of representatives of the ministries of Economy, Trade and Finance in the Arab States.
The participants will discuss the draft agenda and draft resolutions for the new session of the Council in preparation for submitting their recommendations and resolutions in this concern to the Economic and Social Council at the level of Ministers of Economy and Finance for approval.
Head of the Department of International Cooperation & Trade Agreements in Qatar's Ministry of Business and Trade Ahmed Ahen represented the State of Qatar to the 87th Session of the Economic and Social Council.
High-ranking officials in the Ministries of Economy, Finance and trade participated in the Session, with Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy heading the meeting.
The participants discussed a number of economic and financial issues, particularly activating a free zone for Arab Trade and completing arrangements for forming an Arab Customs Union by the year 2015. (QNA)
