Cleric Predicts Uprising in Europe against US Hegemony
TEHRAN! May7(FNA)- Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazzem Sediqi expressed confidence that European nations will stand against Washington's hegemonic policies sooner or later.
The European nations humiliated under the yoke of the US government will rise up sooner or later, voicing demands to compensate for the past humiliations, Sediqi said, addressing a large congregation of people on Tehran University campus today.
"We are still witnessing growing popular revolutions. Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has interpreted the movements as a breath of life, which gives vigor to nations and are dynamic, progressive and intolerable to injustice," he noted.
"Ongoing conditions in Egypt and Tunisia raise more hopes. The key to the revolutions is the resolve to proceed in the path of the revolution led by late Imam Khomeini. They (the revolutions) will slowly cross all boarders," Sediqi reiterated.
The remarks by Hojjatoleslam Sediqi came two day after Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed that popular uprisings and revolutions sweeping the Middle-East and North of Africa at present will soon spread to the European continent.
Addressing a large number of Iranian teachers and university professors here in Tehran on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the growing wave of Islamic awakening in the Middle-East, North Africa and other parts of the Muslim world has been inspired by Iran's Islamic Revolution, and said this awakening will definitely spread to the European countries.
"This awakening move will certainly advance to the very heart of the Europe and the European nations will rise against their politicians and rulers who have fully surrendered to the US and the Zionists' cultural and economic policies," he said.
