Kazakhstan erected memorial to Azerbaijani repressed women
Baku, May 7 (AzerTAc). A monument to Azerbaijani women subjected to repression has been erected in Akmola settlement near Astana city.
The monument has been initiated by Azerbaijan Diaspora in Kazakhstan, Khazar Culture Center in Astana and Union of Cultural Centers of Kazakh Azerbaijanis, according to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The monument was erected on the area which has been Akmola camp of political repression victims` wives during 30-40s of the last century.
Over 40 Azerbaijani women died here in 1936-1946 and were buried in common graves.
