TEHRAN, May 9 (FNA)- The United Arab Emirates' Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan underlined that Abu Dhabi attaches much importance to the expansion of all-out ties with Iran.
Relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are important and set a priority for us, Sheikh Abdallah said in a meeting with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday.
He added that Salehi's visit to the United Arab Emirates signifies the importance of the two countries' ties.
"We are eager to expand our ties with Iran in all fields, specially in trade," the minister noted, and called for Tehran's closer cooperation with both the UAE and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC).
He expressed the hope that the second meeting of the Iran-UAE joint economic cooperation commission would be held in the near future.
As regards his country's stance on the developments in Bahrain, Sheikh Abdallah hoped for a solution to Bahrain's crisis through a wise approach and with special attention to the demands of the people.
He also stressed that grounds should soon be prepared for talks and negotiations among Bahraini groups.
