7th int’l stones and mining industry exhibit opens in Isfahan
The 7th InternationalStones and Mining Industry Exhibition opened here on Monday.
Some 109 domestic and foreign companies from Greece, Italy, Japan, China and Afghanistan are showcasing their products during the five-day event.
The event will be wrapped up on May 13.
In a speech at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industries and Mines Vajihallah Jafari said Islamic Republic of Iran ranks third in term of mines exploration across the globe.
Jafarri added Iran has 5,700 mines of which over 4,600 are active.
Jafari underlined that Iran has 1,400 stone mines which produce over 285 million tons of stones per annum.
He put Iran's mineral resources at 4 billion tons of which 2.3 billion tons are accessible.
