PRESIDENT RECEIVES W KALIMANTAN GOVERNOR

Jakarta, Sept 5 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis and Vice Governor Christiandy Sanjaya at his office here on Friday.

Cornelis and Christiandy arrived at the presidential office at 9:30 in the morning to report their plan of action for the next five years to the president.

On the occasion, the president was accompanied by Home Affairs Minister Mardiyanto, Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, and Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi.
Cornelis and Christiandy were installed as West Kalimantan governor and vice governor respectively on January 14, 2008.
Nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) they won the gubernatorial election on November 15, 2007 by garnering 930,679 or 43.67 of the votes, defeating the Usman Jafar-Laurentius Herman Kadir pair which gained 659,279 or 30.94 percent of the votes.
Two other pairs, namely Oesman Sapta-Ignatius Lyong and Akil Mochtar-AR Mecer, got 335,368 or 15.74 percent, and 205,363 or 9.66 percent of the votes respectively.
