PRESIDENT RECEIVES BALI GOVERNOR, VICE GOVERNOR

Jakarta, Sept 5 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received newly-elected Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika and Vice Governor Aan Puspayoga at the presidential office here on Friday.

Governor Made Mangku Pastika and Vice Governor Aan Puspayoga arrived at the presidential office at 10:10 in the morning and met with the president 20 minutes later.

They were installed by Home Affairs Minister Mardiyanto on August 28, 2008 as Bali governor and vice governor after winning the gubernatorial election on July 9, 2008 besting two other pairs, namely Tjokorda Budi Suryawan-Suweta of the Golkar Party, and I Gde Winasa-I Gusti Bagus Alit Putra of the Bali Awakening Coalition Party (KKB).

Earlier, at 9:30 on Friday morning, the head of state also received West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis and Vice Governor Christiandy Sanjaya.
Cornelis and Christiandy arrived at the presidential office at 9:30 in the morning to report their plan of action for the next five years to the president.
On the occasion, the president was accompanied by Home Affairs Minister Mardiyanto, Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, and Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi.
Cornelis and Christiandy were installed as West Kalimantan governor and vice governor on January 14, 2008.
Nominated by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) they won the West Kalimantan gubernatorial election on November 15, 2007 by garnering 930,679 or 43.67 percent of 2,131,089 votes, defteating the Usman Jafar-Laurentius Herman Kadir pair who gained 659,279 or 30.94 percent of the votes.
Two other pairs, namely Oesman Sapta-Ignatius Lyong and Akil-AR Mecer, got 335,368 or 15.74 percent, and 205,763 or 9.66 percent of the votes respectively.
