INDONESIA, S KOREA TO EXPAND AIR FORCE COOPERATION
Jakarta, Sept 5 (ANTARA) - The of Korean and Indonesian air forces reached agreement to expand their cooperation, not only in student exchange program.
Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Subandrio said here Friday the visit of his Korean counterpart Kim Eun-Gi is more than a courtesy visit, but also to expand the cooperation between the two air forces.
Subandrio said the cooperation has only been in student exhange programs.
"We also may have joint exercises," Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff said.
During a bilateral meeting at the Headquarters of the Indonesian Air Force in Cilangkap,the two chiefs agreed on a regular exchange visits between the officials of the two countries' air force.
"The routine meeting is aimed at studying possibilities of further cooperation between the two air forces," Spokesman for the Indonesian Air Force Air Commodore Chaeruddin Ray said.
By holding routine meetings, Ray added, the cooperation between the two sides has a potential for expansion to other sectors.
Ray also said the routine exchange visits between Indonesia and Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand had resulted in regular exercises.
