Italy's Int'l Book Fair Displays Iranian Book

TEHRAN, May 15 (FNA)- The 2011 Turin International Book Fair in Italy displayed an Italian version of the book 'Pig's Bone and Leper's Hands' written by Mostafa Mastur, a prominent Iranian author.

Entitled "Reading Iran in Italy", the ceremony to unveil the book was attended by several Iranian literary scholars and Italian journalist, Antonio Sacchetti, translator and professor, Bianca Maria Filippini ,author, Vanna Vannuccini and a number of Italian media representatives.

Translated by professor of Persian literature, Bianca Maria Filippini, the book has been released by Ponte 33 Publications.

Founded by Bianca Maria Filippini and Irene Chiellini, Felicetta Ferraro, Ponte 33 is the Italian translation of "Si-o-Se-Pol", name of the famous bridge in Isfahan, a historical city in Iran.

On the theme of representing inner thought and conflicts, Pig's Bone and Leper's Hands narrates the lives of different residents of a tower in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The story subtly depicts the fusion of their problems and daily lives.

Pig's Bone and Leper's Hands was previously translated by Ertugrul Ertekin into Turkish.

Mastur's best-selling novel Kiss the Lovely Face of God, translated by Yunes Kepada Sayeh into Indonesian, has been published in Indonesia as well.

Furthermore, a collection of short stories by this veteran author has also been translated into Arabic by Maryam Heidari.

Several Valid Sayings About Love, The Pig's Bone and Leprous Hands , Love on the Pavement, Tehran in the Afternoon, I am not the Sparrow are some of his renowned works.

The 24th edition of the International Book Fair is being held in Turin at Lingotto Fiere and the Oval and will run until May 16.
