Leader's Aide Advises West Not to Victimize Interests for Regional Dictators

TEHRAN, May 16 (FNA)- Supreme Leader's Advisor for Military Affairs Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi called on the western governments not to victimize their interests for the dictatorial Arab regimes in the region.
"The western governments had better avoid sacrificing themselves for the corruption and dictatorship of the Arab governments in the region and rather consider the interests of these countries' people," Rahim Safavi said, addressing participants in the Tehran "International Conference on Global Alliance against Terrorism for Just Peace".

He also described the West's staunch support for the Zionist regime and its veto-wielding against the different UN Security Council resolutions against the Israeli regime as yet another mistake committed by the western governments in the region, and warned that the West's advocacy of Israel would further increase violence and terrorism in the world.

Political observers believe that people's uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen and Libya are the result of growing "Islamic awakening" in the Middle-Eastern countries.

Observers also believe that the recent uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain and Jordan are the result of the United States' double-standards in the Middle-East and its biased policies against the different nations.

People in the Middle-East now believe that the western approach to the ongoing revolutions in these countries has unveiled the true nature of the West's stance on democracy.

The United States and certain other western countries have adopted a double-standard approach towards the popular protests against the dictatorial regimes in the region.
