Azeri chief electoral officer attends European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies in Vienna
Baku, May 16 (AzerTAc). Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov participated in the 8th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies held in Vienna, Austria during his visit to the city on May 9-15. The conference was co-organized by the Venice Commission and the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Austria.
Addressing the conference themed around “Elections in a Changing World”, Mazahir Panahov provided information on the parliamentary elections held last year in Azerbaijan.
The event featured discussions on the role of modern technologies and social networks in elections, organization of elections, electronic voting etc.
Mazahir Panahov held meetings with president of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio, chairmen of election commissions of some countries and representatives of international organizations.
Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission also took part in a coordination meeting of Eastern European countries` Electoral Management Bodies co-organized by the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Union (EU).
