Russia-Azerbaijan interregional forum kicks off in Astrakhan

Baku, May 19 (AzerTAc). The second Russia-Azerbaijan interregional forum titled “Russia and Azerbaijan: towards new horizons of interregional cooperation” has today started in Astrakhan.
The event is organized by “Eurasian research institute” development fund with the support of Azerbaijan's and Russia`s Presidential Administrations.
Azerbaijan is represented by a delegation led by the head of the Azerbaijan presidential administration`s social and political affairs department Ali Hasanov.
The participants of the forum familiarized themselves with the exhibition titled “Russian-Azerbaijan cultural relations in photos of AzerTAc and ITAR-TASS”.
Azerbaijani and Russian presidents` congratulation messages were read out in the event.
A head of Russian Presidential Administration's Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations Sergey Vinokurov noted today`s forum would contribute to strengthening economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Ali Hasanov said deepening mutual relations with Russia had always been foreign policy priority of Azerbaijan. He underlined historical role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in elevating Russia-Azerbaijan relations to a qualitatively new level.
The aim of the forum is to expand relations between the two countries in the economic, science, humanitarian and socio-political fields.
