Poormohammadi: Iran ready to help ECO members fight against corruption
Chief of the Country’s Head Inspections Organization (CHIO) here Friday announced Iran’s readiness to establish ECO Member Countries’ Anti-Corruption Campaign Headquarters in Iran.
According to a Friday night report of the CHIO, Hojjatoleslam Mostafa Poormohammadi made the comment in a meeting with the visiting delegation of the Monetary Inspections and Anti-Corruption Campaign Agency of Tajikistan.
He further emphasized the need for strengthening the campaign against corruption in regional countries, arguing, “The issue of campaign against corruption, money laundering, and organized crimes is a matter in need of greater cooperation among the regional countries.”
Considering economic strength as an aftermath of effective campaign against corruption, he reiterated, “Campaign against corruption is the major demand of the nations.”
Hojjatoleslam Poormohammadi referring to the 1st gathering of the ECO member countries heads of organs in charge of campaign against corruption and surveying the people’s complaints, reiterated, “convening of this conference has provided a good opportunity for the regional countries to establish an appropriate apparatus which would serve as the basis for multilateral cooperation, and eventually, boost economic cooperation among the ECO member countries.”
He said, “The expansion of underground and secret activities and major challenges are among the major challenges blocking the path for sound economic activities and campaign against corruption would be successful on condition of launching a collective work respectively.”
The CHIO chief expressed hope that a headquarters for ECO member countries’ campaign against corruption would be established, announcing Iran’s readiness to be the host for that center.
The Head of Monetary Inspections and Anti-Corruption Campaign Agency of Tajikistan Fattah Saeideve, too, expressing delight over the convening of the ECO gathering in Iran and the presence of the Tajik delegation at it, announced his country’s acceptance of the proposal for the establishment of an anti-corruption headquarters, asking for serious bilateral cooperation in such campaign.
