FLOOD INUNDATES THREE VILLAGES IN S KALIMANTAN
Batulicin, S Kalimantan, Sept 7 (ANTARA) - A flood triggered by weeks of rains inundated three villages in Mantewe subdistrict, Tanah Bumbu district, South Kalimantan, on Sunday.
The three flood-stricken villages are Dukuh Rejo, Mantewe and Sukadamai.
"The water level once rose to 1 meter. Luckily, the flood came after the harvest time," spokesman for Mantewe subdistrict Nyariman said.
However, the flood did not force residents to evacuate to safer grounds.
"The flood is an annual one. It is far smaller than last year's flood which reached up to 1 meter high," Nyariman said.
