Azerbaijan Republic Day marked in numerous world countries


Baku, May 25 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan Embassy in Belarus organized a reception on 28 May- Republic Day in Minsk on Monday.
The event brought together Belarus officials, members of Azerbaijani Diaspora and Azeri students studying in Belarus.
Addressing the event, Azeri ambassador Isfandiyar Vahabzade said that Azerbaijan has ancient statehood traditions and the first democratic republic in the East was established here. He touched upon Peoples` Republic Azerbaijan that existed only 23 months, stressing after 72 years the country regained its independence.
Isfandiyar Vahabzade underlined that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory has been occupied by Armenian Armed Forces which resulted in over million Azerbaijanis` becoming refugees and IDPs.
Azeri diplomat touched upon the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus and stressed the visits of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenka to the countries stimulates the development between the two countries.
The reception also featured pieces of Azeri music and cuisine.

Izmir-Azerbaijan Cultural Center and Azeri students living there will organize an event to mark 28 May- Republic Day in Culture and Art House of Ege University on Saturday.
The event featuring concert program will bring together representatives of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and local community.

Azerbaijan Embassy in Jordan organized a reception on 28 May- Republic Day and the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence in the “Amman Marriott Hotel” on Monday.
The reception brought together Jordanian officials, parliamentarians, representatives of business sphere, diplomatic Corps accredited to Amman, Azeri and other Diasporas, local mass media, Azerbaijan-Jordan Friendship Society and others.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli briefed the participants on successes gained by the country after the restoration of independence in 1991.
The hall was decorated with national flags of Azerbaijan and Jordan and portraits of Ilham Aliyev and King II Abdullah.
The event featured film on socio-economic development of Azerbaijan, performance of Azeri national, classic and pop music,
Participants were handed over books and booklets on the history, culture, social-economical development of the country, Armenian aggression policy against Azerbaijanis and its results.
The Central TV Channel of the country aired a film on Azerbaijan produced in Jordan.
