Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Mexico marks Republic Day
Baku, 29 May (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Mexico has organized a reception to mark 28 May - Republic Day.
Opening the event, ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov briefed the participants on the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
The diplomat also spoke about the progress made in Azerbaijan in all spheres after the country regained independence in 1991. He noted Azerbaijan expands friendly and cooperative relations with the world countries.
Mukhtarov also touched upon Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan. He said Azerbaijan was continuing the negotiations process to settle the problem. The diplomat underlined the conflict must only be resolved on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
The event participants saw documentaries on Azerbaijan`s history, culture and tourism potential.
The reception was attended by officials of the Foreign Ministry of Mexico, diplomats, members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Jewish communities, representatives of NGOs, businessmen.
