Azerbaijan`s flag raised in New York to celebrate Republic Day
Baku, May 30 (AzerTAc). A flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Republic Day and the 93rd anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was held in Bowling Green Park in New York.
Speaking at the event President of the Society of America, Tomris Azeri told of the importance of this day in the history of the country.
For his part, Turkish ambassador to Washington Namik Tan said this day is important for Turkey as well.
After the ceremony, Azerbaijanis joined the New-York City Turkish Day Parade organized by the Turkish American Association
