Official Underlines Iran's Close Cooperation with Pakistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- The visiting Governor-General of Iran's Northeastern Khorassan province, Mahmoud Salahi, stressed that Iran would further tighten cooperation with Pakistan in a bid to help to the development of regional economy.
He made the remarks addressing the inaugural ceremony of "Pakistan-Iran Investment and Trade Business Forum", jointly organized by Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) in collaboration with Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) where 60 government and private officials from Iran met leading CEOs and government officials from Pakistan.

Salahi said that he will present the Iranian study to produce coal energy as a gift to the people of Punjab, and added that Khorassan can also help Punjab in producing electricity from water, coal, air and solar options.

He expressed the hope that industrial exchange program between Punjab and Khorassan would help promote trade relations of two provinces.

Salahi also extended invitation to Pakistani industrialists to take part in an international investment conference to be scheduled in Khorassan next month.

The event highlighted investment and trade opportunities in Punjab to Iranian investors, where the private sector delegates and government officials also discussed the most pressing projects that can be boosted though this visit.

Salahi and his entourage arrived in Punjab on Sunday and met with a number of officials, including Punjab chief minister.

The Khorassan delegation also visited Iqbal's mausoleum on Monday.
