Iran, Mauritania call for expansion of defense ties
Tehran, May 31, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi and his Mauritanian counterpart on Tuesday reviewed expansion of defense cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Iranian minister arrived in the city of Nouakchott, capital city of Mauritania, on Monday on the first leg of his two-nation tour which will later take him to Bolivia.
Vahidi had earlier met and conferred with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz during which the Iranian minister conveyed the warm greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to his counterpart.
A further boost in all-out cooperation between the two nations and issues of mutual interest were discussed by the two officials./end
