Azerbaijani FM meets representatives of world media

Baku, June 2 (AzerTAc). As a part of his visit to the United States, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov met with representatives of Tompson Reuters, CNN, Associated Press, Inner City Press and Summit Energy.
The minister provided information about main priorities of Azerbaijan`s foreign policy. Mammadyarov also touched on economic achievements of the country.
The chief diplomat said his country is "active" participant of regional projects and initiated various international projects.
He also updated journalists on the negotiation process over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Mammadyarov said the United Nations Security Council`s four resolutions demanding withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from occupied territories still remain unfulfilled by Armenia.
On the Azerbaijan-US relations, the minister said the countries enjoy “effective” cooperation.
Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan was nominated for non-permanent membership of UN Security Council for 2012-2013, informing about advantages of Azerbaijan`s nomination.
