No obstacle in way of expansion of Iran-Afghanistan cultural ties

Kabul, June 7, IRNA – Head of Culture and Islamic Communications Organization said in a meeting Monday evening with Afghanistan’s Information and Culture minister there is no obstacle in way of expansion of Iran-Afghanistan cultural relations.
According to IRNA, Mohammad-Baqer Khorramshad in his meeting with the Afghan Information and Culture Minister Seyyed Makhdoum Rahin announced the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness for transferring the Iranian nation’s cultural achievements to their Afghan brethren.
He added, “Effective agreements have been signed by the two sides in the past regarding the expansion of bilateral cultural relations.”
Khorramshad added, “Numerous cultural commonalties, shared language, religion, history and civilization, and particularly the two nations’ shared feelings necessitate the expansion of bilateral cultural relations.”
He said, “Iran and Afghanistan are among the closest nations to each other throughout the world, thanks to their unmatched numerous commonalties.”
The Information and Culture Minister of Afghanistan Seyyed Makhdoum Rahin, too, referring to numerous commonalties between the Iranians and the Afghans, said, “There are lots of unused potentials that can be facilitated in order to expand our bilateral relations.”
Rahin added, “Afghanistan welcomes taking advantage of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s scientific, cultural and educational potentials at various fields.”
He elaborated on the two countries’ shared cultural and media programs and relations, reiterating, “Last year a twenty-member Afghan cultural delegation comprised of journalists and radio-TV staffers visited Iran and were acquainted with the media activities in your country.”
Khorramshad arrived in Kabul on Sunday morning and after meeting the Afghan Information and Culture Minister attended a gathering of a group of Afghanistan’s thinkers, university professors and cultural personalities at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul./end
